At the Oscar awards, what was not said was probably more interesting than what was.

Comedian Robin Williams said it all when he walked on stage with a piece of white tape over his mouth.

Williams was to have performed a song lampooning conservative critic James C. Dobson, whose group had criticized cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants for appearing in a video it branded "pro-homosexual."

He was going to do it by concentrating on the dark underside of other cartoon characters, asking, for example whether Casper the Friendly Ghost wore that white sheet as a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

Marc Shaiman, who wrote Williams' original routine, said he decided to withdraw the material after ABC raised objections that would have led to him re-writing 11 of 36 lines. ABC declined to comment.

No, really....I don't understand it as "art", I don't understand it as a news piece and I don't understand how it could possibly cost $21 million dollars....doesn't it look like a bunch of us could have put it together from Home Depot lumber and Fabric Barn bolts for about $10,000 - including beer and pizza money?

Yes, I know "art" is in the eye of the beholder but...come on....is *this* "art"? Then again, I've never "gotten" any of Christo's other "creations" either - I understand what kind of logisitical and engineering feat it is to wrap islands in pink or a bridge in cloth but I don't get it as Art.

The FCC has received a handful of complaints about Paul McCartney's performance at the Super Bowl – but not because it was too racy.

According to a report on Mediaweek.com, four people submitted complaints to the Federal Communications Commission – the broadcast regulator in the U.S. – following the broadcast.

Of those, two people complained that McCartney's performance wasn't racy enough.
