I said YML will get worse, and here is why.
J is good. That was easy. Seriously, he adds a lot to the show, both with his skills and his personality. That is not to say that the show will be bad without him. It's not a black and white world. The show will still be good, just not as good at first. I'd guess that the show will go down to about 90% of it's current quality. I also think that's temporary. The show is constantly growing and changing. It won't take long before the show in it's new formation will be just as good as it it now (though different). Anyway, that's just my guess. I could be completely wrong. Loren --- Still Authenticating after all these years... What do you think will happen to YML in CT?

I voted that you would get better. I think that I mean that the show will
continue to improve, as it has consistently over the years. None of the changes that I've seen the show go through were detrimental in the long run, though like many, I will confess to having feared some of the changes at first. I think that j. curtis does bring a lot to the show and that he will be missed. However, as you point out, you're going to be lots closer to New York City and you'll be in David Pogue's circle, and I am very interested to see how that will add to the show. Good luck in your future endeavors! Susan --- -- "There are three things in life that people like to stare at: a flowing stream, a crackling fire, and a Zamboni clearing the ice." IMHO, YML's chemistry of Shawn, Lisa, & J together has become the gold
standard for fun, interesting, and informative listening. When J, or Lisa, is not
present, the show's chemistry just isn't as good as when all 3 are interacting with
their different and yet, complimentary personalities. This is simply a reflection of
the great chemistry YML has when all the 3 amigos are present. ...Shawn, you've
got to keep J regularly involved.

You know, I don't think that's it's so much that people think that YML will get
worse as that they fear it will. So often change results in a change for the worse. Like when McDonalds dropped the deep fried apple pies for the baked ones. The box in came in was tastier. (My apologies to J for comparing him to a high fat pastry product from a fast food joint) --- Remember, when fixing your computer a hammer the tool of last resort. Actually, i'm not offended at all... I like the apple pie boxes, too!

availability as a podcast (yeah, I'm slow), I'm particularly sad to read J Curtis will
no longer be part of the program. Ever consdier having J Skype into the
recording session as Leo Laporte makes available for many people on his
various netcasts? Anyway, good luck in CT.
