...is fun!!!

Just got back.....50 miles....would have gone more but it started to rain.

It was a little scary (I really need to practice turning at lights and stop signs) but J took us on some *wonderful* roads.

J kindly let me take his bike out for a ride yesterday. We just did laps around a local parking lot for about 90 mins. It felt great but it reminded me of what I *don't* know about riding a bike.

So...I rented one for today. :)

I'm headed down to Honda of Cool Springs to rent the same kind of bike J has. It should be fun but I don't mind admitting, I'm a little scared. But you *should* ride scared. :)

Problem is, J and I went to American Motorsports after riding and....I think I found the bike I want to buy!

It's a Yamaha V Star Classic 650. Smallish but fine for me. I love the footboards on it and the heel/toe shifter is *perfect* for me. So...anyone want to co-sign a bike loan for me? :)

Hopefully, I'll have pics of a ride later this evening!

I am now legally allowed to operate a motorcycle. :)

The class was put on by the Tennessee Riders Instruction Program Inc., Nashville (if you mention my name when you sign up, I get $10.00. :) ). I don't know about courses in your area but, if you get good, patient instructors/coursework like we had, it's not only informative, but surprisingly easy and fun!

If you've ever had any interest in getting your MC license but, like me, were afraid or nervous, don't be. I went from being *sure* I would embarass myself (crashing, putting the bike down, running into someone or something) to Top 3 in my class!

Now, this doesn't mean I'm going out to buy a motorcycle tomorrow (but, if you know of any good deals, let me know!) or that I'm going to be running motorcross in 6 months but it does mean they gave me the confidence to know that I *can* ride a bike safely and with confidence. See you on the road!

I get to spend all day tomorrow, in the sweltering summer heat of Nashville (day time temp tomorrow will be upwards of 100 degrees!) with my head in a bucket and wearing jeans, a long sleeved shirt, heavy, steel toed boots and gloves!

And, as these pictures show....I can't wait!

Canada has a national news broadcast called "The National". The station it is on here in the US is Newsworld International. Unfortunately, Al Gore has bought the channel and, on Monday, it is changing to Current.tv.

That means that The National will no longer be seen down here. The National has a "listener comment" section called "Your Turn" and they asked, on air, for viewers to call or write with their comments. I called them and left a voicemail.

This is a very cute promotional idea. J sent me a link to "Crash this Trailer" and I did. The results were kinda funny.
