Sly Goes to a Predators Game!

Thanks to Neal Carter, Maurice Shevalier, Paul Driver, Phil Connor, Rory Gillespie, John Haugaard, Lynda Fudold and, most recently, Dennis Jones, Sly, Lesa and Shawn went to a Vancouver Canucks vs Nashville Predators hockey game Tuesday evening.

Hard to believe but it's actually cheaper for Sly to see a Canucks game here in Nashville than it is in her home town of Vancouver. So thanks to the above sponsors for helping make it possible!

Sly is Coming to Nashville!

Thanks to Neal Carter, Maurice Shevalier, Paul Driver, Phil Connor, Rory Gillespie and, most recently, John Haugaard, our very own Jill of All Trades Sly is coming to Nashville tomorrow!

And what a trip she's starting out on - it will take her over thirteen and a half hours, she'll travel through 4 different airports in 2 different countries and travel more than halfway across North America....

She'll be in studio live on Wednesday evening, going to a Vancouver Canucks vs Nashville Predators hockey game (it's actually cheaper for her to see a Canucks game here than it is to see it in Vancouver!) and headed down to Atlanta on the weekend to see the sites.

If you'd like to sponsor "Sly's Trip to Nashville", simply go to our PayPal Link:

And send whatever amount you like for whatever reason (wanna buy Sly a beer while she's in Nashville? You can do that too!)

With your help, we can make sure Sly has a great time while she's "down South"!

The Graphic Reporter's Tip of the Week

On last night's show I talked about the new Photoshop Elements 4.0 and how much fun it is to create collages with the Magic Extractor. In this example I took a picture from this past summer, and plopped in the family dog... that we don't have. Hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Until next week, may the force be with you :)

Sly's Website of the Week - March 8, 2006

So you think *you* can juggle, huh?

Are you as good as this guy?

:-)

Sly

Please note the "original" site has had to take down the video for music copyright issues - but I found another site with the video, albeit lesser quality video.

iWeb blogs - now even a baby can take comments on their blog
My husband Greg wanted to test out iWeb, but he really didn't have anything he wanted to blog about his life - so he created 'Bilbo Gehr's Blog From the Womb' just for practice. Check it out at http://bilbo.gehr.info/

Disappointed by the lack of integrated commenting support, he searched the web for a third-party solution. He found iComment .

iComment is freeware. It has worked perfectly well for our purposes and we are now able to accept comments on our blog from any species able to give them.

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- A group of Vatican Radio employees gave Pope Benedict XVI a brand new iPod nano loaded with special Vatican Radio programming and classical music. To honor the pope's first visit to the radio's broadcasting headquarters, the radio's technical staff decided the pencil-thin, state-of-the-art audio player would make the perfect gift.

MacBook Pro
When I initially got my MacBook Pro 2.0 ghz I used the migration assistant to transfer my data automatically to the new computer. It was dreadfully slow with the 1 gig of Ram when trying to use Adobe CS2 and even the universal apts. did not run as well as I had expected. I installed another gig of RAM (machine now maxed at 2 gig of RAM) and the machine was much better, but still not what I was hoping for. So i wiped the disc and then manually transfered the data and preferences that I knew I needed. I then did a clean install of Adobe CS 2 and other must have applications.

The Rosetta applications are running as fast or even a little faster than on my previous machine (G4 1.5 with 2 gig of RAM) and the Universal applications just fly.

In summary if you are thinking of getting a MacBook Pro I reccommend maxing out the RAM and doing a clean install. Stay a way from the migration assistant.
