Will you buy a new 17" MacBook Pro?

I have recently purchased a 15" Mac Book Pro (for the boss) and it is plenty big...
I find the 17" is just too big... I mean to use this thing you need a huge desk and
on the plane, you would need to fly first class, which the University will not pay
for. Personally I prefer the 12" Powerbook and am hoping that they bring out a
MacBook Pro version.

I had a 12" iBook and upgraded to a 15" AL. I will soon buy a MacBook Pro. I
really want a 15," but the FireWire 800 is VERY important to me, so it looks like I
will be buying the 17". It is a little too big, but I work from home most of the time
now, so it will work.

I had originally wanted a 17" but my old 15" was falling apart so I grabbed one of
the 15" MacBook Pros - and have never looked back. Very happy with the 15".

The increased resolution takes care of 95% of my needs, with the remainder
being deligated to my Cinema display in my home office.

I will eventually buy a 17" MBP when the Adobe CS Suite is updated to Universal Binary. I am a graphic designer and this lareger machine could lead the way as a desk top replacement?

For Sure!

I almost bought the 15 incher 2 weeks ago and the sales person at my University (U of Oregon) Bookstore talked me out of it because of the apps I needed it to run right now are not compatable with it (Adobe Suite, Final Cut Suite, etc)

I am happy that he talked me out of it because now the 17" book is available.

I have a 15" laptop and it is ok but I am so used to 21" monitors that the 15" just seems so small.

Plus, I plan to dual boot mac / pc and give my pc to my wife for her use.

Peace,

JKT
