I sort of agree with Aaron. (Although I did vote...)
We called PC's WinTel boxes to sort of signify that the enemy was both Windows and Intel. It became a generic name for all non Windows PC's whether they had Intel inside, or not. But, while Windows is still the competition, Intel is now a partner. So the whole WinTel nickname is kind of useless. How about we just call them Windows computers, or even PC's as many still do, and we call our's Macintosh's. :-) --- Still Authenticating after all these years... Should it be called.....

The MacIntel computers would be the GI (Gee-eye) series. "I" for Intel.
The eMac GI case would have an optional military camoflage paint job. Should it be called.....

None of the above. With no Power PC chip inside can the laptops still be called
PowerBooks? Can the desktops be called PowerMac? So the name should change but I don't think think it should include the company name who built the proc. Granny Smith? Golden Delicious? ;) Should it be called.....

"With no Power PC chip inside can the laptops still be called
PowerBooks?" Why not? They were called "PowerBooks" long before they ever had a PowerPC chip in them. Should it be called.....

How about ApTel? Doesn't the nic "Mac" refer strictly to the desktop
models, thus leaving out the 'books? --- Great love and great achievements involve great risk. Should it be called.....

"Doesn't the nic "Mac" refer strictly to the desktop models, thus leaving out the
'books?" I've never thought of it that way. I've always thought "Mac" referred to any computer reelased by Apple - laptop or tower. Should it be called.....

Another way to view it is that all Apple machines run some form of Mac OS, hence MacIntel or any of the poll choices would still be appropriate.

I don't really care what it is called. As long as it sticks to the Apple way of operating, I don't really care. There are a million names out there of what it could be called, and frankley any one of them is fine with me, except for that Intelintosh one.....

In regards to the "MacBM". I can think of a crappy Performa that I had that could
be classified as a MacBM (emphasis on the BM). Apple to trademark "mactel"
