Hi Shawn and Lesa,

You asked for listener's stories on their iPods. Here is mine:

I got one of the first iPods in 2001. It was given to me (at my
request) by my aunt as partial payment for a book which she had
written and I had designed and laid out for publishing. I loved the
HECK out of that iPod!! In fact, I wish I still had it but I don't.
Not that I'd use it, but I would love to have it just because I had
one of the first. Anyway, I currently am a 2 iPod owner. Including my
two, we have 5 in the house for the 4 people that live there. I have
a black 5G Video and an engraved white nano that was given as a
Christmas gift by the ad agency I work for (everyone of the 75 or so
employees got one last year!! WOOT!).

My nano is my exercise 'pod and I bought an iPod Nike+ for it, which
I madly love and don't use often enough (ahem).

At the moment my video iPod is the one which I use every single day.
I subscribe to several podcasts and that's mostly what I'm listening
to when I have my headphones on. I also back files up on my iPod when
I have a desperate "running out of space" message from my Powerbook
and I'm not at home where I can hook up my external drive or burn a
DVD to make some space available. A week or so ago when I had to send
my 'Book in for service due to my daughter tripping over my power
cord and the pin in the ac adaptor breaking off IN the power port of
the laptop (oh, how I want that new MacBook Pro with MagSafe power
connector!!!) I backed up crucial files in a hurry to my iPod while
my laptop still had battery power, and while my precious computer was
away getting repaired, I could still access the files I needed thanks
to my iPod's ever-plentiful 60GB hard drive.

I have all of my pictures on my iPod and often pull it out to share
vacation pictures or current shots of the kids with friends or
family. It's like having a little brag book of photos in my purse at
all times, except I can have THOUSANDS of pictures, not just a
portable photo album full.

My name is Katie, and I'm a Mac Mac.
