Hi Shawn & Lesa - the Kings of the Macintosh,
It was a great Mac Expo this year and getting to meet you guys was
the clincher for me.
Having listened to Your Mac Life for quite a while now, laughed at
the jokes or should that be Shawn's screw ups, actually getting to
meet both Shawn & Lesa face to face has added a new dimension to
listening each week and heightened my enjoyment of YML.
During Mac Expo I spoke with the PR lady at the press office and she
too agreed with me that this years event has such a buzz flying
around amongst visitors and perhaps vendors too that next year will
most likely be bigger again. She also wrote down my comments for
future reference as well.
For the upcoming year (2007) is going to be such a buzz for the
Macintosh and for Apple, especially as some of the vendors were new
this year at Mac Expo, Capital FM (www.capitalfm.com) with their old
London bus parked on the show floor; personally I can see important
Apple figureheads, like Jonathan Ive attending and maybe, not likely
next year, maybe after Steve Jobs deciding that Mac Expo, London
should be the new place for his keynote speeches.
As for keynote speeches, this aspect of the Mac scene is one I have
yet to experience, actually seeing Steve Jobs up on a stage not more
than a few feet away rather than just a few inches on a screen would
really be something that right now I can only imagine!
It makes sense to me that Apple might drop Paris, as far as I know
there isn't a flagship Apple Store in Paris or even in France and so
might approach the organisers of Mac Expo to book a theatre space for
a keynote speech. For some trivia: London is closer in terms of
distance with Paris than it is to Edinburgh, Scotland!
It is a pity that Steve Wozniak was in London recently, but didn't
allow or simply didn't have enough time to attend Mac Expo. Great
that he was on YML!!
Until next year: "You have been Listening to Your Mac Life in London!"
Thanks YML it has been such a gas!
