This is THE STORY... that brings the truth to light.
I haven't read the story or heard the audio, and I probably won't because of that line. It implies that all other stories are flawed or false in some way, and indicates that the author has some kind of agenda to push.

I have no doubt there are some stories of extreme malfeasance and stupidity resulting from the hurricane. There are stories of brutality, crime, unimaginable suffering, and horrendous situations. I also have no doubt there are stories of genuine kindness, heroism, competence, efficiency, sacrifice, and love. I refuse to believe that this story, whatever it may contain (which I gather from the summaries is something negative) is the story with the truth. A tremendous number of things happened during and after the hurricane, and no one story can possibly be the truth.
